How hard is it to get into the vending machine business?

I have been thinking abot getting into the vending machine business. It looks like a good thing for me to get into but I wanted to see how it was for anyone that has already been in it?

It’s all location, location, location. You’re going to be up against some big competition from established vending companies that have sometimes hundreds of machines in tons of locations.

I would start small. Find a great location that doesn’t already have a machine. A busy break room at a smaller company or business is one of the best places to start. Next you’ll need a machine…the combo drink/snack machines are a great place to start. Also, bulk machines…such as candy/nuts/mints that you pay a quarter for a handful. Keep in mind that you don’t want to have your machine somewhere it could get vandalized or broken into.

Yes, been doing it for 40 years.
1. You need to do some homework of area which will support the vending machine. Pricing is Key !
2. Go to existing companies and do a survey of items people would enjoy.
3. Give a company % of the income to cover electric bill. Your totally in control there.
4. Show always interest too. Don’t take the approach of out of sight and out of mind.

Vending Machine is a SERVICE !
