I would never ask a guy to go some where as a joke. I'm guessing that she either thought that you were going to say "no" because you were silent, or (like you assumed) she was going to go with her friend and then her friend canceled. Maybe she thought it might be awkward or send you the wrong message if you two went to the mall alone, so she decided just not to go at all.

I'd never do something like that. Why on earth do you think she feels disgusted in you? You did nothing. Look, I think you are thinking to much about this to much and from what you have said (even though it is not much) she does not seem like a girl to like and WANT to go to somewhere with, let alone the mall. Why would someone ask you, then say she was talking nonsense? I can see you have a little thing for her and you are putting a little effort by being a genlteman (walk to subway). If she felt the same, I think she'd put in the same effort. Sometime girls play the hard-to-get game with guys and I honestly don't think its cool. If you were to have a chance to go somewhere with her, I say do it. Get to know her. If you see this girl is still "teasing" you, forget it and move on because you are going to get bored. I'd say use this as a learning experience and move on. If you do that, I feel like you're going to think what if? What if you get a chance to get to know her more? Go for it. Then weigh your options.
