Should I have kicked him out?
I manage a coin laundry facility. One night at around 12 a very strange man waltzed in. He was wearing a jeans with lots of leather, a mohawk and piercings all over his face.
I think the guy might of been on drugs. But in any case he had his pockets FULL of quarters. He put a quarter in every single clothes dryer inside! That's 80 Dryers runing with no clothes inside!!! He then proceded to start putting quarters in all the washers. What felt like half an hour later he was done turning on every single machine! all of them runing with NO clothes or any detergent or anything.
I thought I should of kicked him out but it's a business so I didn't want to do without the money he was putting in all the machines.
He must of spent $20 for the vending machines buying sodas and snacks. He filled up his big back pack that he brought with him. This man was HIGH!
What do you think guys, should I have givin him the boot? If he comes by again the second time what should I do?
I mean you dont really have a LEGAL reason to I dunno I mean he was giving money to your business so I dont know why you would…if you wanted next ime he comes in you can call the police and let them handle and they can determin whether or not hes on drugs…but if he didnt pose a threat leave it be but keep 911 on standby JUST IN CASE! if you DO kick him out next time though make sure you have valid reason you dont want a lawsuit for discrimination (based on the way he dresses etc.) you DO have a right to refuse business to whom you choose (within good reason) but to protect yourself from a discrimination lawsuit I wouldnt kick him out unless you are scared for your life or he is breaking a law.

Have him just give you all of the quarters and tell him you'll turn on the machines for him…

If he is not hurting anyone i dont see that there is a problem.

Well, if there was no one else there, he was paying for the service of amusing himself. I wouldn't have kicked him out. If there were other customers there and it was annoying them, then I might have kicked him out.

Unless he poses a threat, I say let him come all he wants. That's a lot of money for you and you didn't even have to deal with a jam packed laundry room; just one person. If he comes back, I say keep a close eye on him but by all means, let him GIVE you his money if that's what he wants to do!

If he wasn't bothering anyone or causing trouble I would just let him be. He was technically paying for this time in your place, he did spend money. If he comes back and causes trouble then that is a different story.

ok, i bet he robbed someone-and just trying to rid himself of the money. Next time call the police to question him. Otherwise enjoy your new prosperity

Dude if he pays don't worry about it but if he threatens anyone or brings any weapons in call 911. If you see him again ask him what happened that night.

What I want to know is where does a guy get that many quarters at 12am?

I would call the non-emergency police IF he comes back. It was funny the first time haha but now you need to think about what else this weirdo/druggie could do. What if he freaks out and attacks you? You should also talk to the owners and see what they want you to do.
Wouldn't want to hear about you on the news…

i would ask what did he do wrong. is a customer only allowed to us one machine at a time. or is it that a customer must use detergent. he paid for services that he recieved. does a resterant kick you out if you dont eat all your food or ask you to come again. if he could use every washer and dryer sounds like a slow night be thankful for the busness.

leave him to it. If he was on drugs it could of turned nasty if you had confronted him. I doubt he will come in again but if he does try and see if you can fill some of the machines with your own clothes.

Report to the proper authorities his misbehavior so he could be reprimanded if he does such foolishness again. Keep an eye to him whenever he comes back and make sure you could make an easy call and response from the police, if necessary.
