Is an internet shop restricted to sunday trading laws?
( I have placed this in here after receiving no replies at all from the Business section ).
Just a brief query. My partner is close to opening up an Internet shop….not a cafe as she will not be providing teas, coffees, etc though may consider a vending machine. It is a small shop just to provide access to the internet and general pc services. Would she still be limited to 6 hours of trading?
Thankyou for your time.
Tony
All retail shops can open on a Sunday. Larger shops however, whose internal retail area exceeds 280 square meters are only allowed to open for up to 6 hours between the hours of 10am and 6pm.
Larger shops may not open on Easter Sunday or Christmas Day, if it falls on a Sunday.
The following large shops may open at any time on a Sunday:
Farm shops
Shops selling wholly or mainly intoxicating liquor
Motor cycle supplies and accessories
Registered pharmacies selling only medicinal products
Airport and Railway shops
Service stations and petrol stations
Stands at exhibitions
Hope this Info helps.

No the restricted trading on Sundays applies to larger shops and stores. There is a certain square footage that determines whether a shop is considered large or not. I am not sure what this is but but from your description I don’t think the restrictions will apply in your case.

What hick town are you in?
I would close the blinds, lock the door, and let the internet sales continue, because someone in another time zone doesn’t care or even know about the stone age rules of your area!
